📖 What Does "Per Hour" Mean?

1. "Per Hour" means "Every 1 Hour" ⏱️
When someone says "5 miles per hour" or "3 cookies per hour", they mean that every time 1 hour passes on the clock, that same amount happens again!
Hour 1:

Hour 2:
🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 (5 more cookies = 10 total)
Hour 3:
🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 🍪 (5 more cookies = 15 total)
2. The Three Rate Magic Tricks 🪄
Rule 1: Find Total Amount
If you know the rate and hours, MULTIPLY them!
Rate × Hours = Total
Example: 4 per hour × 3 hours = 12 total
Rule 2: Find Rate ("Per Hour")
If you know total items and hours, DIVIDE items into equal hour groups!
Total ÷ Hours = Rate Per Hour
Example: 12 items ÷ 3 hours = 4 per hour
Rule 3: Find Hours (Time)
If you know total items and the hourly rate, DIVIDE total by rate!
Total ÷ Rate = Hours
Example: 12 items ÷ 4 per hour = 3 hours
